Excessive Heat Warning today

An Excessive Heat Warning will be in effect Friday for much of North Texas as high temperatures will be around 100-104. However, higher humidity today will push the heat index to the highest values of the week – around 110-115! This is dangerous heat so make sure you’re staying hydrated. Check on your elderly friends and family and take care of your pets. The weekend will be dry and hot with highs around 100 and an afternoon heat index of 104 to 108.
Next week will not be quite as hot as the heat dome weakens and shifts northeast. Many days will feature highs in the mid to upper 90s. There is a low chance of spotty thunderstorms late next week.
