5.4-magnitude quake hits South Sandwich Islands region — GFZ

BEIJING, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) — An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.4 jolted South Sandwich Islands region at 0229 GMT on Monday, the GFZ German Research Center for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 56.02 degrees south latitude and 27.74 degrees west longitude. ■
